As an experienced trial attorney in Atlanta, practicing statewide in Georgia, Ken Shigley is slated to serve as President of the 41,000 member State Bar of Georgia in 2011-12. (He will continue his litigation practice unabated during that time.)

Mr. Shigley's work is focused on cases of serious injury and death resulting from truck and bus accidents. He is on the boards of both national organizations of plaintiffs' trucking trial attorneys, and has taught other lawyers at continuing legal education programs on trucking litigation from coast to coast.

Mr. Shigley began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in the then-four county Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit, worked a few years in small town general practice, spent a decade in statewide insurance defense and governmental liability defense practice, and for eighteen years had a solo plaintiffs' trial practice in Atlanta. In order to increase capacity for handling larger cases, he became of counsel with the Atlanta law firm of Chambers, Aholt & Rickard, LLP
